with something like this you can't just drill a hole; you have to keep the chips cleared off and everything coated in coolant. if it gets too hot or impacted deep inside the hole, the drill can shatter and impact, ruining your work. so you drill in and turn it to break the chips, then pull it out and clear, then back again, about 1/4" at a time when it gets deep. it requires patience. Liisa saw what I was doing and said, "oh. you're doing the lawd's work, girl."
